We are having a host of tablets for our menu recently and just when we think “this is it”, something new comes our way. Kobian has launched their new ICS ready tablet the Mercury mTab Neo2 which carries a Samsung chipset along with lots of features to make you think for the second time.
Out of the box, the mTab Neo2 will be running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread with an option of upgrading the OS to Android 4.0 after it is released in four weeks time. The 7-inch (16:9) tablet comes with a capacitve touch screen and high resolution for a richer video experience. It also packs in a Cortex A8 dual core processor clocked at 1.2GHz along with 512MB of RAM.
One of the best feature is that it supports voice calling facility like cell-phones and other connectivity features include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth along with GPS connectivity. The tablet sports both front and rear facing cameras. The storage includes an 8GB of internal memory with a capability of supporting microSD card of up to 32GB. It is also expected that the tablet will deliver a battery life of around 6 hours.
This will be the fourth tablet from Mercury after the recent mTab Neo and mTab 2. Though it has been priced higher at Rs.14,999 than the competing tablets in this segment, it can give a run for money for its competitors like the Micromax Funbook and HCL’s ME Tab U1 and MyEdu tablets.
